There are approximately 700-800 active US Military bases world-wide (not counting those in the United States.)
250,000 military service members upkeep these bases.
There are 850,000 buildings, vehicles and equipments (4 per person! 900 per base!) located on these bases.
We have 1642 active nuclear warheads, 800 of which are mounted on ICBMs (inter-continental ballistic missiles - capable of reaching anywhere in the world.)
We spent 640 billion dollars on our defense budget this year, which is about 15% of the total budget (4 trillion~) and is within 10%~ of the most we've ever spent (721 billion.)

According to the global research information, we've heavily invested in these foreign bases in the past five-ten years. Most of the research was done between 2000 and 2005. We're heavily focused on acquiring and controlling foreign nonrenewable resources.

Consider all of this, and then consider the sensationalized operation Jade Helm taking place this summer in the southwest of the United States. These are the key points I want you to consider:

I: Normally we only train military members for the theater of war. In this case, we will be training them in first world, residential and urban areas - we've never fought a war in these kinds of areas, and there aren't many countries in the world that reflect that - most of them are allies, actually. At least for the time being.

II: The operations will be carried out at night (11pm-3am~) with blank ammunition. The operations will be performed in residential and urban areas - if they are firing weapons, blank rounds or not, how is this going to affect the people living and working in these areas?

III: Wal-Marts in many of the specified areas are being shut down as we speak, or have been already.

While I'm really cautious to make any claims (unlike much of the internet) I will say that it seems strange to me. Are they going to round up dissidents? Are they going to eliminate militia members? If not, why are we preparing to fight a war and perform operations in a first world nation?
