Unhappiness
Feb. 13th, 2011 05:39 amUnhappiness exists only when the following conditions are met:
I: Lacking acceptance of the reality of particular circumstances or a situation.
or
II: Unwillingness to change the reality of a particular circumstance or a situation.
These are the only conditions from which unhappiness arises. You would do well to take note of the fact.
While I agree with certain classical philosophers insofar as predetermined fate is concerned, thanks to genetics and the experiences one has had, these are both absolute truths. I can find no fault in them and I am sure you will benefit from recognizing these things, if you have not already.
In the case of II, if one is unwilling to change then one need only accept his or her circumstances as reality to achieve happiness. The more one attempts to resist reality, the more one will find oneself residing within the pits of despair. Acceptance is the key. There is no shame in any path one might tread upon.
There is no SHAME in any path one may tread upon. SHAME is a result of value judgments, which can not be empirically derived. They are irrational attempts at simplifying a complex existence, and nothing more.
