Dec. 2nd, 2003 01:53 amMmm.
I'm soooo tired.
Hunting season started, and this is the first year I can go out alone.
You have no idea how much better it feels for me to be out there by myself. I knew it would feel how it did today, and it's the whole reason I want to learn bow usage and all of the hunter tricks in the book so I can enjoy the thrill of the hunt for real.
My dad was more into the stand still and wait for them to come to you, I just can't do that. It's too boring. Unless of course I'm feeling lazy.
Just so everyone knows, I don't hunt for sport. I love the taste of venison. Mwaha.
But if I do get one I'm going to be sure I thank the woodland spirits and the spirit itself for the bounty. I just hope I'm not inhibited by how much i've changed in mindset when it comes to pulling the trigger. If I am, I'll just have to quit hunting.
Other than that, I'm tired as hell. I got my room moved around, so now it actually looks big, and I can practice the little amount of hatha yoga i know of in there with ease. I really wish I could get sound proofing though, because I hate having to worry about waking my parents up at night when I'm in there listening to music or doing whatever.
Suck.
I need a job, and then I need an apartment.
-bows- Good day. Or night, I should say.

Not that I necessarily follow the hindu tradition any more...
Date: 2003-12-02 09:46 am (UTC)Karma is your fate and lot in life. But it goes beyond that. The karma of what we eat is to be eaten. It's purpose is to provide nourishment for humanity.
To deny something it's karma is to deny it it's place on the Wheel, and to prevent it from transcending. If you can not fulfill your karma in this lifetime, than you are doomed to die and repeat it.
To end something's life short, before it can fulfill its karma is likewise equally bad. But how can you tell whether someone is done or not? You can't, really.
You can, however, change your own practices to be more merciful. Hunting with a bow, unless you are an excellant(and I mean superb) shot, is far more painful than hunting with a gun. It takes far less skill to blow the head off of something with a gun than it does to pierce the skull with an arrow. Do not fool yourself into believing you are sparing it anything by hunting 'traditionally.'
And consider its karma when you do it. Consider its karma, and yours. It'll be enlightening.
