Uploaded some new pics to my Lj, gonna use the one that shows off my green eyeshadow...though not that well cause it had to be small...for this post...

Anyway, not much is going on at the moment.

I went and saw The Matrix: Revolutions today with my friend D. All I can say is that it was well worth the wait.

!!!!!!!!(Caution...slight spoilers)!!!!!!!!!

I honestly think it was deeply philosophical but others would argue with me...jenn namely -giggles-

Especially when Smith is talking to Neo at the end of their battle (Which made me realize they could do a Dragonball movie with real people and do it WELL...i was surprised at how alike that battle was with a lot of Dragonball/Z battles)

I think neo said, "Because I Choose To" when Smith asked him why he fights, but i can't be sure...can anyone verify that? It would make sense because a machine cannot choose, it is a program...until it is exiled that is, and even then it is influenced by its programming. So it'd almost be like an insult.

Also, I liked what the Architect said to the Oracle at the end.

Defines humanity very well, and makes you ask the question of how the war even started to begin with.

Maybe the humans started it.

I'm also one of those who sit and read long posts on the philosophy and religious symbols in the movies.
I love the whole trilogy.

I think I'm gonna write up a summary of things I've picked up and post it on my LJ soon. Then we can compare.

And yes, he said 'because i choose to' at the end.

Yeah, Jenn told me to watch the animatrix too...I think i have a big grudge against humanity though, and maybe i wanna think they started the war :P

Hehe, I like my icons too

Something i liked, though it might not necessarily:

Neo loses his eyesight but gains power because of it (ability to see the machine world as it truly is)

Odin gave one of his eyes for necromancy...iirc (geoff would know better but i'd be embarrased to ask...he posted it at some point somewhere for me i think)

Sacrifice for power

I thought the story went that he gave his eye for the knowledge of the runes, not any power over the dead.

He hung himself from the Tree of Life for the runes, didn't he?

Allfather

The Allfather hung on the Tree Yggdrasil for 9 days and nights to grant him the power of the runes. He brought back with him from his travels spoken magic, which extends into his sphere of influence because he is god of Wind and Storm, and also of Speech and Poetry.
His eye he gave to Mimir's well to grant him the foresight to see Ragnarokr. An eye for a drink from the Well of Knowledge. Because his eye sits at the bottom of the well, it is said that he knows of things to come, and can see the end. Mimir told him the story of the end, as did the Volva, when he raised her from the dead.
Any other norse questions I can answer for you? Such as how Neo is really Baldur, the Shining God?

Just for reference... A line from a song...
Nine days and nights Allfather did hang upon the tree,
Nine mothers had fair Heimdall who live upon the sea.

Hmm...i should've seen the correlation between neo and baldur to begin with.

It would make sense too, because baldur comes back even after death (iirc), and the oracle says that she suspects they will see neo again.

Thanks for the info. You're a wellspring of knowledge -hugs-

And thanks for saying you like my smirk pic. I haven't really been feeling too great about my appearance as of late for various reasons -sighs-

Baldur's Drama

The references to Baldur run far deeper than the fact that he'll be back. That's just a classical messiah comment. In reality, Neo could just as easily be Jesus as Baldur.

However, it is shown that he is a child of the Matrix... A god of the World. He is the bringer of peace and an end to the eternal war. Baldur rises only after Ragnarok is finished.
He is struck down by a compatriot of his, when he is blinded. This is, superficially, similar to Hoenr killing Baldur at Loki's behest. Agent Smith is Loki. A force of change and destruction.
Baldur stands in defense of humanity over Loki(Agent Smith). The two children who survive the Final Battle grow in the light of Baldur to flourish... and the world is rebuilt again.
And in the end, Neo is ferried away to join the Machine World. He is reborn as a part of the matrix.
There are more similarities... but those are the easiest to explain.
Next post, we go into how Neo is really King Aurthur.

Clearly this is because you aren't spending enough time around me. After all, how often do you meet people as enthusiastic as I get?
