Condensers and my voice
Mar. 29th, 2010 09:06 pmI've got one hell of a deep voice!
I hooked up my condenser today for some experimentation (I really wish I had a second one so I could do stereo recording - it's probably going to be the next step for me)
And I've got a frequency band that hangs around the C2-C3 range and may even drop into the C1 range occasionally. That's -ridiculously- deep. C2 starts around the 100hz area. My other mic does not pick this band up! It only picks up down to high C2 but mainly C3+
I'm really starting to think about trying to get into radio. I really do have a talent for it and there's local stations that are always looking to pick people up. I can read out loud efficiently, I'm good at modulating my voice and it's deep like they want it in a guy. Also I'm smart, damnit!
If I could make 16k/y doing radio I would. That would be awesome. Although the pay is usually a bit better than that!
I figure with my background in sound design/mixing, music and sound hardware I probably would look pretty good to a radio station. I've /wanted/ to look into it for awhile but I really don't know how hard it is to get in.
Best thing I can do is start contacting local stations.
