Cloverfield
Feb. 17th, 2010 06:23 pmWatched this again for the first time since I went to the cinema. I remember getting into one of many fights with my ex fiancee about it.
I really enjoyed it the first time, just as enjoyable this time although my eyes were on Marlena a lot.
Cloverfield really boils down to a tear-jerking love story. I like that the entire movie would have had a different track had Rob decided to just flee the city...they all would've survived probably except for Beth.
But it's nice to see that kind of love on the big screen, the kind of love where you're willing to sacrifice everything, even your life, even just for one more moment with that person.
I think it's ironic I remember the fight I had with my ex over this movie because of that. Fact is, I don't think she really understands that kind of love, or at least didn't when we were together...and maybe I didn't either. That's the kind of love you -need- to have in a real relationship.
