Hair Update
Jan. 13th, 2010 08:38 pmI shaved my head today to find that the bald spots had shrunken considerably. This is good, because I'm out of oral medication and all I have left is the spray.
I still need to go back to the doctor to find out if the infection is completely gone, which will likely involve a blood test because this stuff is incredibly tricky to get rid of. I had to use topical ketoconazole originally, and I thought I had gotten rid of it...that was years ago. But it kept coming back.
This isn't a result of lack of showering or anything like that. I shower daily =\
When it finally got to my scalp, it started wreaking havoc on it.
Hopefully the hair will grow back completely. I mean, it looks considerably better than it did, but it's still not tolerable as far as I'm concerned. As long as it was caught early enough (I worry that it wasn't, but the fact the hair has grown back somewhat bodes well) it should.
On the other hand, it doesn't look like it will scar much if at all, and if I have too, I can always go completely bald and shave my head daily. Monks do it. I'm more of a monk by the day anyway, it seems. A solitary monk. A really lonely one. Damnit.
