new family member
Nov. 19th, 2015 03:48 pmA few weeks ago, my parents brought home a stray cat that happened to run and hide under their dining table at a restaurant. Probably one of the better things to have come into my life for awhile :) I guess she's my charge now - I'm paying her veterinary bills and trying my best to raise her well.
I don't think we've ever had a cat from kittenhood before, actually - most were wild that we had coaxed to stick around the property and eventually they became inside/outside. But with Rosa, I've been able to play with her for a half hour a day or more and keep her well fed as she's growing. She has great killer instincts and being that she was a wild stray for the first month or so of her life, I'm hoping that makes her capable around here, since it's about as backwood sticks/wilderness as it gets. I feel like having her has helped my stress levels out quite a bit and helped me center - I'm a big cat fan, but the last cat that I was partial to died a number of years ago. The other we currently have is very maladaptive (another stray that was most likely abused for her first year or so) and never wants to be near humans.
I'd post a picture but I'm simply too lazy - maybe I'll update with one later on. She's all black with white paws and a white bib on her neck that reaches up in a triangle over her nose and between her eyes. Longhair domestic. Incredibly cute, and growing very fast.
