Shutdown starts at the refinery in the beginning of march. I'm basically guaranteed a shoe in thanks to my dad. It should be about $10/h, 70 hour weeks, for a month. I'll have made enough to cover my transcripts, and about half of my laptop, by the beginning of April. Yep, it'll blow ass for a month. But it's worth it. And even if I'm not hired on afterwards, I can find work elsewhere. It'll be a good reference...it'll show I can deal with long hours/weeks. And I won't miss a single day, I guarantee it.

That means if I can average about $700 in savings per month after that, I should have my laptop/external midi interface, 15" cabinets (if I desire...), APC40/Launchpad and some extra cash for a safety net wherever I go to college at. Perfect.

I am worried to a degree I might end up having to start in a spring semester, though. It's okay if it works out that way. I'm not worried...at least twelve months from now, I'll be back at college. It's a good feeling.

And what major, you ask...Philosophy, of course. B.A. at least. If I decide I want to switch majors I'll do that. Not going to worry about it. I think I have plenty...plenty of time to figure my life out.

But I'm really looking forward to the very real possibility of live performance. Something I've dreamed of for years and years.
