Fight Club as Propaganda
Sep. 4th, 2010 04:57 pmI never read the book, but a central premise lies beneath the entire movie:
That the destruction of the financial institutions will somehow result in return to primitive society.
When this is absolutely not the case.
Financial institutions do not result in an advanced society; infrastructure and technology do. Both of which would not magically disappear with the destruction of financial institutions.
So I can only assume the idea that they -put this in there intentionally- knowing that it may very well keep people from considering the idea that financial institutions are bad - after all, they allow us to keep living in the "advanced" society that we have.
