According to the numerous studies on the matter, smokeless tobacco causes only a very slight increase in the risk for cancer. Apparently, the reason why it has been put into the same boat as smoking for so long -is because the cigarette companies don't want you to stop smoking to get your fix elsewhere-

This is according to some peer reviewed research I've been examining.

Talk about a mind blow. I'm done smoking today. Maybe I'll be able to reduce intake and stop tobacco consumption entirely, but either way, I'd rather not further reduce my life-long lung capacity and destroy my heart from smoking.

Also, by the looks of it, smoking causes oral cancer about as often as smokeless - which is to say, not very.

You aren't going to get lung cancer from smokeless. Enough said. It's also quite a bit cheaper.

Awesome :)

I actually picked up a liking for this harm-reducing habit from the mill. I guess I can thank it for two things - discipline, and that :)

Oh yes - it's no wonder when I signed on for my insurance, they asked if I had -smoked- in the past three months. They didn't ask if I used any tobacco product...-just smoked-

Says it all.
