Tattoos are Boring

sathorIt's another one of those days where logging on to MySpace is painful, mainly because all I'm seeing is the same stupid bullshit.
Apparently, this solo female electronic artist with a D cup size and a perfect singing voice going by the name "Lights" is just enthralling the general public with her assets, and I mean that quite literally. The link on the front page went to a recent video of hers - the music is sub-par, I hear so much underground electronic music out there a million times better (even guys i've talked with from MySpace at the same "popularity" level as I am) but guess what every single comment on the page talked about? How pretty she is.
There was maybe one comment per 40 that talked about the music, and even then -only a few were willing to smash it like it deserves, because it is corporate pop bullshit-. Women and men alike were talking about how beautiful she was, and that was it - "She's so pretty, can't wait to see more of her videos"
And that's what the industry wants, because -it sells-. Or maybe it doesn't, but it certainly gets people watching it.
Now it's 3:30pm and I log back in, what do I see on the front page but an ad for a tour. I don't recognize any of the bands in the picture, but they all have the same thing in common - they all have a million tattoos, mostly full sleeves that look pretty fucking new. I am sick and fucking tired of this trendy bullshit. Tattoos are boring, and I much prefer the look of a fully naked woman without a single one.
