of course it fucking does? Oh do all the little insects/critters know to get the fuck out of the way or be smushed? They count as some one don't they? And they are always around o hear it.
But for fun, let's say their ears are not as intricately designed as ours so they don't count and only humans do. How about this for a mind twister...does a video camera set up with no human attending it count as no one around to hear it? A human will hear it later but not as it is falling...so would it make a sound in anticipation? Do trees even have that kind of extra sensory awareness of a being present to hear it die? Anyways. I think it screams bloody murder either way....

If a tree (a big thing) falls in the forest (makes a ruckus in the middle of nowhere) is anyone going to hear it?
I.E. If you live in a rural area don't expect to have loads of friends and interesting things to do, or people to influence.
