I'm not so sure about Bernie Sanders after an email his campaign sent me. It was asking for me to sign a petition to have Hillary Clinton ask the Democratic Caucus to hold more than the scheduled four debates (he's the second in approval candidate - why doesn't he just have them do it?)
This makes me think he's a figurehead for pulling green party, socialist/progressive and otherwise non-party-affiliated individuals into the democratic party. It more or less sounds like he's going to end up endorsing whoever the front runner is (Hillary) and backing out. A ploy by the democrats to get people who don't want anything to do with the two-party system to vote.
Hillary is just as much of a sell out as any of the republicans, and her husband is part of the reason our manufacturing base is gone. Not only that, last time she ran she was quoted as saying she thought middle class was anyone who made multiple six figures a year. I don't blame Sanders for being a democratic candidate, but to think that his purportedly unique and refreshing take on politics might just be a democratic strategy is worrisome.
At this point I'm fairly convinced that 1. Sanders will not be on the ticket and 2. it will be Hillary vs. some random republican who will win by a landslide.
We've all the hallmarks of a failed democracy, might as well put some more nails in the coffin. I'm still wondering if they're ever going to allocate funds to even get our infrastructure squared away - that's really more important than any of the unlikely social programs (socialized higher education, health care...) but it still isn't happening.
Oh, that reminds me. Scholarship awards from a bunch of organizations in Warren happened this week. 90% female recipients. The same thing happened at my public school every year, but these are from independent organizations and businesses.
