Cordova, Alaska

sathorThere is no road to Cordova...you reach it either by sea, or by air.
It is a vortex of positive, incredibly powerful spiritual energy.
It is mind-blowingly beautiful...the mountains surround you, snow-capped year round. The ocean is only a few paces away at any given moment. The forest is lush and green year round, thanks to the proliferation of coniferous soft wood trees. The people are amazingly intelligent, thanks to their denial of modern media and their focus on literature and public radio/television. They talk about real things, real ideas, real happenings in the world...philosophy, psychology, quantum mechanics, spirituality, theology, metaphysics...the list goes on.
And most of them fish. And not all of them are intellectuals, but such a great many I have met are that it is hard pressed for me to perceive the area any other way. Certainly the percentage of such folk is much higher here.
I'm considered a veteran...many people have felt that this is not my first time here. And maybe it isn't...maybe another life, parallel in time period to this one I did indeed come here. Or maybe it is the self isolation I made myself endure, which is not dissimilar from their isolation thanks to the lack of a connecting road. No tourists unless they are determined. It makes a lot of sense, really, and I see why the majority fights to keep it without a connecting road. Even if supplies are somewhat more expensive.
I will likely Siene for at least a week. I could make up to $10,000 in a week if I am lucky. If i'm not maybe only a few hundred, but the experience is worth a lifetime. Other jobs will come to pass if it is the nature of my fate...and if not, I will not fret.
Because I will be returning to Pennsylvania, regardless, a completely changed man.
Barring of course meeting my soul mate...and never wanting to leave. And I may have just met her...we will see. Tomorrow if she shows up at the church to play in the band, I am confronting her and asking her if she wants to spend some time together...maybe with a little help from captain morgan or jim bean, we'll get to know eachother well. She's a Cellist, Vocalist and songwriter. She's quite stunning in a very unique way. And apparently she's quite a lot like me, from what I've been told. I can't wait to get her number.
There's others as well...i've fallen in love with so many...and I hate to say it, but I think they may have fallen in love with me as well. Even if they are married in some cases.
