Hitler never enacted gun control in Germany. In fact, he made it so any member of the Nazi party could own and carry a firearm openly, and he also reduced the age of gun ownership to 18 from 20.
I posted this on my Facebook because I was starting to get sick and tired of all the anti-gun control rednecks floating their ignorant posts. I admit, it's a bit passive aggressive, but here's the thing:
A bunch of them liked it.
Can you understand why that might scare the living hell out of me? Everyone who was part of the German Nation was allowed to freely own firearms, but anyone who was a Jew or a subjugate race was not allowed to own firearms. These gun nuts actually think what Hitler did was good? What the fuck? If anything I was comparing America to the German Nation.
I posted it with the hope that they would read the first paragraph and maybe, somewhere in their subconscious, it would click that they are deluding themselves into a false sense of security by thinking owning assault weapons would increase their survivability. I guess I was wrong.
7.62 NATO doesn't fare very well against armored vehicles, air support, or artillery. Just saying.
One more reason I'm not sure I can believe someone could bring a majority of this country into a rational frame of mind...I think I've lost all faith in it.
