Alright, so...
Jan. 5th, 2011 03:40 pmI finished a track (mostly) today (yesterday), and I think it's the first time I've ever been satisfied with something I've done. I have always been self conscious with anything I finish, especially if it contains vocals. But for this one, it doesn't seem to matter.
I smoothed it out a lot with some proper EQing today, which really made me happy with it as a whole.
The vocals are actually rather fitting, and even though the song isn't designed conventionally, I don't care this time around.
It's about as out there as pink floyd or ministry, actually maybe a combination of the two with some nine inch nails and astral projection thrown in for good measure. I really like the fusion that has gone on, I really like the sounds and the texture.
For whatever reason I actually feel rather -proud- of this accomplishment, which is a real first for me. This isn't the sort of proud that will fade with time like it does for my other works - at least, it feels like it isn't. It feels a lot deeper and resonant than usual.
