Thoughts on Energy, Time and Being
Apr. 2nd, 2010 05:36 amSometimes I immortalize moments in time. I see something, and because of my appreciation of it, or when I grant it a high value, I make sure I think a great deal more on it, remind myself of it time and time again, and eventually it becomes forever a part of what I perceive to be my immortal self, my mind.
I don't believe that the mind ceases, that existence necessarily ceases on death. What atoms and particles comprise my being are never destroyed, even if they were to be smashed together by a hadron collider there would be a resulting energy that can never be destroyed, even if they were split in half by a fission reactor, there would be a resulting energy that is absorbed by other beings, even in electricity, by the creation of the light that a woman probably uses in her house, or that a musician uses to power amplifiers - furthermore in that case the energy is released as sound which is then heard by many individuals, furthermore affecting those people, creating lasting impressions in those people, and even affecting their tissues, their eardrums, their cochlea.
For many generations dead organic matter powered our world, the resulting energy of long ago predecessors to our existence now as according to Science and the result is that their energy has affected our lives, thousands, millions, tens of millions, conceivably hundreds of millions or more years, depending on which paradigm one subscribes to, after the existence of these beings "ceased." One might even go as far to say that, as a dimension, time is very likely a form of energy itself, as we are in our dimension, and it would only make sense to say that we are therefore affected by an energy that is passed into us in the form of the passage of time, and also become a part of it as well.
