Heh...

I should've been listening to these guys years ago. Unbelievably complex writing.

Most music just can't touch guys like this...Pagan's Mind too...Kamelot is actually watered down compared to either of them...and electronic music in general even more so.

I really want to take electronic to this level, but I have a long road to take to get there.

Well, on fire again apparently...

Writing another song based off the instruments of Solace...I've got a good portion of it visualized, it's just a matter of getting it expressed. The intro is written into the first stanza so far.

This one will have vocals. Very probably dream theaterish or pagan's mindish vocals...but not as extreme, maybe a bit more reserved.

Man, the couple days I spent looking for good synths and processors really paid off...I mean, Solace wasn't bad but...fuck...this one sounds absolutely pro...

I'm getting good at this, when am I going to catch a break? I know there's a lot more for me to learn musically but I think I can still make things that people will enjoy...

I'm starting to understand the concept of adding to and taking away from a basic idea, which is the hallmark of writing music that most people are familiar with and are willing to pay for.

You can rush into your choral progression immediately after your abstract introduction then reduce down to a repeating bass note, for instance, layer on top of it a harmonic progression and use that to expand off of vocally or further instrumentally...you continue to add percussion until your chorus actually happens...then you break...then you stanza again...then you chorus...then you solo/outro.

And this pattern...it really works...if you write it emotionally...

Sigh...as a recluse though, I'm probably never going to manage to give it to the listener, the final part of art...
