Battle.net recently implemented a new feature which essentially allows you to bind cd-keys for all of their games that you own to the account itself. I've owned every Blizzard game at some point or another, so I'm going through and adding them. However, I couldn't find my CDs!

So, I decided to snoop around a bit, and lo and behold, I can buy both the expansion and original version of Starcraft for 14 bucks, and it's a digital download only. Now that the CD key for the SC Anthology is bound to my Battle.net account, I can /download the game and respective expansion any time I want in the future/.

Any game I bind to my account, I can download digitally.

Just the other day, I was saying how annoying it is to lose CDs, and not have a free method of re-obtaining data that you already paid for (I find when I am highly magically minded, things I think of come into being.) I still own the box, book and CD-case for Final Fantasy 8, PC version, but I no longer can find my CDs - so I downloaded the game as a torrent and used Daemon Tools to bind individual CD images to virtual drives. I am legally allowed to own it because I bought the game. Me no longer being in possession of the CDs should not be a reason I can't play the game again.

It sucks I had to pay to get StarCraft back, but it's worth it...and at least I'll never have to deal with the problem again, with regards to Blizzard anyhow.

My WoW account is linked into B.net now too. Very cool.
