Forgive me if I laugh hysterically

An article in my local newspaper today gives me another reason to dislike christianity...one of their proverbs deals with the doors of heaven opening to those who tithe to the church (though that is a shortened version, that is what it says in essence).

Since when did giving money to an organization assist anyone in spiritual enlightenment? Unless of course, you want to count the 'thank you' you get from a minister. -dies laughing-
