One other thing...
Sep. 25th, 2009 03:24 amNow I look like an asshole because I'm spending time writing entries and not replying, but that's okay, I'll fix it tomorrow - likely in a much more inebriated state. Please note the following entry is animal focused and I make no guarantees that I won't sound like a crazy cat lady (ahem...man) in the process.
When I do leave - and it's inevitable that I will - I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'LL DO ABOUT MOLLY.
I'm the only one that does not hate her (she's ruined numerous screen doors in the house) and I'm the only one with a random enough schedule to feed her regularly - she eats only a tiny amount at a time, and usually eats up to six+ times a day. The problem is, she leaves food in the bowl and then other domesticated animals residing in the house come by and steal it. Bastards. I'm quite certain she'd starve if I was not me. And I won't be able to take her with me to boot camp, to any station afterward...to college...or probably even into most apartments (even though she's probably about 3/4ths the size of a /small/ house cat...but I swear she has bobcat in her, because she hates my feet and comes at them with a vengeance if she's hungry - although maybe this has to deal with the size of my feet instead...I've heard stories of other half bobcat cats doing the same thing!)
For a long time, Casper, the other cat, seemed to be like a familiar of mine - although he was far too distant and his personality was too individual for that. If there is an animal that BREATHES familiar, it is Molly...she follows me around everywhere, and often comes and lays near me while I sleep, regardless of locale within the house. She also enjoys my room, and no other animal can lay claim to that other than Casper on the rare occasion - although I think he does it just to escape the dogs.
Molly's personality is so unique, I've never quite seen it in a cat. She leaps up to rub her head against the bottoms of my bondage shorts, and hardly ever leaves my side if she catches sight of me. There is something very spiritual and magical about felines in general, and this is why I prefer them to dogs - but molly is above and beyond that. There is a /powerful/ intellect in her eyes, and an /incredibly/ human way about her. This is surprising because she was a stray in Tidioute for a long, long time, and was mistreated by the local kids (i.e. they liked to kick her around, apparently.)
I love her with all my heart, and if there is one animal I would love to take with me, it'd be her. She's the only comfort I really receive nowadays, other than the comments you guys write in here. And I want to take the time to thank you all for continuing to comment in here, because it drives me to continue writing...and it is with great necessity that I continue to write, as otherwise I fear I will not be prepared for college when I return.
Now...I am really going to bed. First time setting the Alarm in a long, long time.
